We extend a warm welcome to you from everyone at the BIRD IN EYE Surgery. Our modern and well equipped premises are situated within Uckfield Community Hospital.
We are an expanding practice with five doctors at present and we also have a training GP who we supervise.
The five doctors have a wide variety of experience and complement each other to provide a full medical service. The training GP is a fully qualified doctor who needs to gain experience working within a GP practice for 1 year before he or she can apply for a GP position.
We have ample parking and taxi drop off points together with a frequent bus service. The surgery has full disabled access together with a disabled toilet.
Uckfield Community Hospital offers a range of services including a minor injuries department to deal with cuts, burns and minor medical injuries. We have visiting consultants from Eastbourne District Hospital, the Kent and Sussex and Princess Royal Hospitals who run outpatient clinics in various specialities. We also have on-site physiotherapy and x-ray facilities. Certain routine operations are carried out at the hospital by the surgical consultants who visit, and there is a 15 bedded GP run medical ward. The local chemist, Selby's, has a pharmacy within the building for your use.
There are also branches of Boots and Tesco's pharmacy in the High Street, along with the main branch of Selby's.
On Call Care, the GP led out of hours service, also operates out of the hospital at weekends, evening and night time.
We are available between 8.00am and 6.30pm Monday through to Friday. We are closed between 12.30 and 1.30pm.
