Chaperones

Some examinations that patients have to undergo can cause embarrassment and anxiety, and patients may prefer to have someone else present.

Following guidance from all the professional bodies, we offer and encourage the use of chaperones in appropriate situations. You may decline the offer of a chaperone although in some circumstances the doctor may feel that a third person should be present and will discuss this with you if the need arises.

We respect however you decide.
